A web address subordinate to the main URL but more distinctive than an internal link. This page would be a subdomain if its address were http://glossary.carolynfriedberg.com instead of http://www.carolynfriedberg.com/glossary.htm. Subdomains cost more, but search engines are more apt to index them.
